I fell in love with essential oils at the end of 2019 and have been slightly obsessed with them since. Essential oils are the extract of a wide variety of plants; they normally come in small glass bottles and a little can go a long way.
Oils can be tricky to shop for at first simply because there are so many of them available. When shopping for them make sure that they are 100% oil. Avoid fillers or anything that says perfume, to ensure they are in its most natural form. If you’re shopping for a roll on essential oil, coconut oil and almond oil (which are used to dilute the essential oil and make it safe for skin) are safe additives!
Oils you need in your starter pack
🍃 Peppermint- For energy and when you feel uneasy in your tummy
🍊 Citrus - Uplifting and Supportive
🌰 Cedar Wood/ Pine- Grounding
🌿 Eucalyptus- Healing
💐 Lavender- Calming and Help Aid Sleep
Diffusing different oils depending on the mood you are aiming to achieve is one of my favorite things. This is the most common use for the oils. I ado a few drops of citrus and peppermint when I need some inspiration or am feeling tired and it works like a charm. As soon as you start associating scents with mood you will have a way to ease your nerves, help your focus, or even sleep better!
Other ways to use the oil
- In the shower for a refreshing steam
- On your pillow
- As a light perfume (Use behind ears and neck)
- As a DIY perfume (add a drop to your wrists with coconut oil)
- For removing labels or if you accidentally write on a whiteboard with sharpie (Use lemon)
- For oil-scented salt baths
- In your hand lotion (add a couple drops)
- As a car freshener
Once you find your groove, the sky’s the limit! If you haven’t tried essential oils out, now is a great time to start!
